Long Distance Trails with all your Senses

 

There are many well known long distance hiking trails, that lead through Russbach. Beeing on your way for several days like on the St. Rupert Pilgrims Trail, the Alpine Salt Trail or the famous Dachstein Circular Trail.

In 8 Stages from hut to hut

Dachstein Circular Trail

The entire tour arount the UNESCO-awarded Dachstein landscape leads on well signposted and taken care of paths and steep tracks. Additionally, the whole trail is marked with "Dachstein Rundwanderweg" signs. From Russbach you can take Russbach's Hornbahn lift to the top and from there you can reach the start at the Zwieselalm / Top station of the Gosaukammbahn lift in about one hour.

Alpine Salt Track "SalzAlpenSteig"

The long hike SalzAlpenSteig reaches to 230 km wth 18 day goals,that range from Bavaria to Salzburg to Upper Austria. What's special about the SalzAlpenSteig is the common thread surpassing borders. As the name states (SalzAlpenSteig: Salt Alp Track), the trail leads through old, historical regions, along the salt mines that have been most significant for millenniums, with their historical and cultural treasures. Starting in the Chiemsee-Alp land, to the Chiemgau, Bad Reichenhall, Berchtesgaden-Königssee and Salzburg's Tennengau to the Dachstein-Salzkammergut, the salt, or "white gold" has formed history.

St. Rupert Pilgrims Path

This Trail is named after St. Rupert, the first bishop in Salzburg and Namensgeber ist der heilige Rupert, der erste Bischof in Salzburg and patron of the Land Salzburg. This in 2007 established trail was extended including St. Gilgen, the Lammertal until Bischofshofen in 2012. A new 7 days tour from Altötting to Salzburg - to the tomb of St. Rupert.
